This is older than dirt (from October 9th, to be exact), but I shoulda shared it about then.

Full-color critter
Goodbye for now, frothy, problematic attempts at Milt Kahl mimicry. Hello, draftsmanship, basic appeal, tonal studies, and confidence!
(I apologize, however, if anyone finds this fox/bobcat's spacey expression creepy. Let's pretend she's in rapture to make it more interesting.)
Sitting in on Marshall's Visual Storytelling final on Wednesday was a rush 'cause there were so many great pitches from fun-loving animation students with no apparent pretensions. Thank you to the wonderful class of Fall 2010! I plan to work on stories after the weekend, once I've cleaned my squalorous apartment. Honest!

And for my next trick...
My 3D Computer Animation final! I got cozy with the Norman rig (no, not like that) and did my best to show how he'd react to seeing something inside a box. I was surprised how closely I could match Norman's poses to my original drawings.
One more semester gone. On to my senior film with a vengeance! Merry Christmas folks!

Runnin' Hoss
For my Animal Drawing final!
The tail's a little weird but I know how to fix it. In the meantime, enjoy.

Noirtoons
Had so much freakin' fun drawing these, and taught myself how to draw square, dimensional skulls in the process.

Meet Francesca!
Five feet, five inches of hardcore post-adolescent female...
Not exactly a quantum leap from the animal girls, but I like her that way. You get sex marketed to you so many ways these days that I prefer to carve out a niche for pinup girls you might like to know.
My only worry is that I don't explore enough shades of cute. There are subtler ways to do it than a ribbon and a fancy dress, for sure. But it was my deliberate choice to indulge in cuteness when designing Francesca.
To all the spirited, down-to-earth, lovable real-life Francescas in this world (and I know a few): how ya doin'?
